General Info about our Alpaca Fur Rugs: Alpaca fur comes from the alpaca animal, which lives high up in the Andes Mountains of South America. It is without question some of the softest, most luxurious fur in the entire world. Feeling it for the first time is truly an unforgettable experience! Unfortunately, pictures are woefully inadequate in revealing this. You simply must experience one for yourselves by feeling, touching, and caressing one to fully appreciate what we are saying.
Each piece is painstakingly handcrafted by some of the world’s finest leather craftsmen, some of whom are actual descendants of the ancient Inca Indian civilization. Sought the world over for their unsurpassed quality, these magnificent furs can add a sense of quality and luxury to any setting. In addition they make for ideal decorative wall hangings and accent pieces.
When being produced, these alpaca furs come in four sizes: 3'x4', 4.5'x6', 7'x7' and 7'x9'. The 7'x7'and 7'x9' sizes are generally used for bedspreads while the two smaller sizes are normally used for decorative accent rugs or fireplace rugs. Being thin and lightweight, alpaca furs are best used for decoration or "light usage".
(The importer who supplied 97% of these furs is out of business. Unfortuntately, we do not have any in stock.)
