Free Products
Please rest assured that we are very committed to not selling any animal product where an animal has been either killed or treated harshly, strictly for the leather or fur.
We are appalled by this and will not take part in it, either for profit or pleasure.
We basically have three animal product lines: sheepskin, cowhides, and alpaca fur.
Sheepskin and Cowhide Products
All the sheepskin and cowhide products that we sell come strictly from the food industry. Cows and sheep simply are never killed solely for the leather or wool.
Once again, all sheepskin and cowhide products that we sell are strictly by-products of the food industry!
Alpaca Products
Our alpaca fur products also do not come from animals that have been killed solely for their fur. Everyone of our alpaca products have come from animals that have either died in the cold temperatures of the South American Andes Mountains or have drowned in the yearly Spring Floods.
Alpacas are a domesticated animal. They have been raised for centuries for their indescribably soft, luxurious fur.
These animals are sheared at least once a year for their valuable fur. It would be ludicrous to kill an alpaca animal to be paid one time for the fur, when one can get paid every year- year after year after year.
Now concerning the alpaca animals that are used to produce the magnificent alpaca products that we do sell.
Over the years, the "Discovery Channel" has produced many programs about South American animals. It is in these programs that viewers learn about the living environment of alpacas.
To begin with, alpaca animals are very delicate creatures. They live high up in the Andes Mountains, as high as 14,000 feet! That's as high as Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado, one of the highest mountains in the United States.
Winters are bitterly cold and harsh in the Andes, as you could well imagine. Unfortunately, one learns from these "Discovery" programs that close to 50% of all new born alpacas either freeze in these harsh Winters or drown in the Spring floods.
When conditions warrant themselves, these animals are gathered up. It is from these animals that our alpaca products come from.
We hope that this explanation has comforted all those that are as concerned about "cruelty to animals" as we are.
